His stuff on such pieces as "A song from under the floorboards" still does it for me, after all this time. In fact, his performance all over "The Correct use of soap" is absolutely knockout...... ((( Yes, let's hear it for "Dirty Barry"... I can only concur with your remarks Derek.. always 'did it' for me too... such a shame he's gone off the boil now though... after such solo gems as "The Taming of the Shrewd" and "Moss Side Story"... More of an Oedipus Shmoedipus (sic?) man myself though. The track with Billy M singing on is superb. Arrived today in fact! Although I had Stayin' Alive on an old Peel tape I hadn't heard the versions of Miss You and Whole Lotta Love since Peel played them at the time (1978-79). They're just as daft as I remembered!! My daughter, who is roughly the same age as i would have been when i first heard it, HATED it though!! Kids, eh? Thought Eccleston did a pretty good job and his manic grin and his way with a malevolent alien threat had a touch of the Tom Bakers about it and the new series is very 2005 and seems to be something that actually lives up to the hype for once. Don't think he's done himself any favours by quitting so soon...surely he's already typecast as the gruff northerner with 'hidden depths'...hence this regeneration is a gruff, northern Dr Who with hidden depths! Bloody actors eh? Beats working for a living doesn't it? Still, the real star of the show is Russel T Davis who is on board for series 2 so.... And good to hear the theme tune very close to Radiophonic Workshop/Delia Derbyshire original. Remix your own version here...budding Radiophonics Workshoppers: http://www0.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/news/radiophonatron.shtml Keith A wrote: > Subject: Fw: Christopher Eccleston > > Any Dr Who fans out there?
