My Roland Cube bass 30 has a few built-in effects - no doubt rather rudimentary compared to computer and top-notch pedals but it does give me the fun of experimenting... No doubt hardware's nicer, but money > swears in this case. You and me both Andrew. I'll stick with my cheapo multi-Fx and the computer, seeing as i'm not in a Hendrix covers band this will do for me! //// Nor am I in a 'Hendrix covers band' either, Tim, so that 'sniffy' tone whistles on by yet again:- :-P I just thought referencing a *fairly* well-known piece of studio-flanging to illustrate a point would best convey how tasty this box was, I am , however, a musician who does break out from the bedroom & do gigs occasionally, and for that I won't be lugging a computer around. Nor would I use a digital flanger. It's purely a taste thing. I'm something of a luddite in terms of the hardware I'd *personally* use in a live set-up. Tired of spam? Yahoo! It was Muzik Von... I got. I'll get my dressing gown... They're very different - Musik von... is like Cluster with Rother jamming on guitar (which is precisely what it is), whereas Deluxe has krautrockin' drums and sounds a lot more like Neu! But not as much like Neu! as La Dusseldorf (Dinger's post-Neu! band), whose first two albums are thoroughly recommended too. And it was from Fopp (no-one else had them) It was 5 mins before closing time, and to signify this they played 'The Final Countdown' by Europe, twice. I like Fopp...its like a chainstore but its not really. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Feb 2005 18:23:44 -0800 (PST) From: Ari Subject: [idealcopy] O.T: Chicken Leg Weavers......... http://www.chickenlegsweaver.net/ worth checkin' out if they're in your area. From the Stereo Society website (www.stereosociety.com): "Wire: Are now one member short after the departure of Bruce Gilbert late last year. Whether the remaining three will continue as the group is undecided. After the last releases as a four-piece, Read Burn 01 (2002) and Send (2003), recording is also uncertain." If true, they've kept this quiet, unless it slipped through my radar somehow. Does anyone know more? Whatever, Wire without Gilbert is inconceivable, surely....
