For my money easily their weakest single, and the last they recorded with Mat Harding on drums. He was replaced by Jack Egglestone. Check the mp3s on Too Pure's website; "Without MSG I Am Nothing" is great. > suspect they'll be in the crowd at the forthcoming GO4 gig ;-) p I think they owed much more to the Pixies, to be honest; the Futureheads, Franz Ferdinand, and especially Bloc Party will be down the front, though. - - A - -- Dept of Earth Sciences, Univ. Looks like Andrew was spot on with who will be down the front at the gig! Another the Keith - ------------------- The Gang Of Four reunion WILL produce some new material, but not the brand new songs fans crave. The seminal post-punkers will release a double album this spring, half of it will be re-recordings of tracks from their early albums, half remixes by bands they've influenced. Andy Gill exclusively revealed to 6 Music some of the bands taking part: "It wouldn't be fair to start throwing names around unless they'd actually committed to doing it. "At this point there's Bloc Party are doing one, Franz Ferdinand, Futureheads are having a go at a track, Hot Hot Heat, Massive Attack and we're gonna be talking to Chilli Peppers and REM." "I think we're doing it even more simply than we did at the time - -there's literally no overdubs" As for the other half of the album, Andy explained what we can expect: "It's a new album of previously recorded stuff...a bunch of tracks predominantly from the first three albums really... the songs were fantastic, but I think there were some holes in the sound of it. "I mean, actually, I think we're doing it even more simply than we did at the time -there's literally no overdubs." The band are on tour this month, for the first time since 1981. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-idealcopy@smoe.org [mailto:owner-idealcopy@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Walkingshaw > suspect they'll be in the crowd at the forthcoming GO4 gig ;-) p I think they owed much more to the Pixies, to be honest; the Futureheads, Franz Ferdinand, and especially Bloc Party will be down the front, though. - - A ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2005 17:05:06 EST From: PaulRabjohn@aol.com Subject: [idealcopy] question how do you capture and save streamed audio? is there a video equivalent of total recorder? just curious.................p ps if anyone wants to record that pixies show for posterity i would well reccomend doing it live as VH2 is chock full of excruciating ringtone adds that'll drive u mad for ever ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2005 22:19:19 -0000 From: "Ian B" Subject: Re: FW: [idealcopy] [ot] *sigh* - ----- Original Message ----- From: > suspect they'll be in the crowd at the forthcoming GO4 gig ;-) p Speaking of which, #18.50 for GO4 at Leeds Uni is a bit steep.
