When I hear the odd track (usually on Peel because, let's face it, where else does one hear them? - - hopefully someone will pick them up in the future) I love their wit and humour. There are few bands on record that make me laugh out loud (for the right reasons) but HMHB constantly hit the button. 'Trouble over Bridgwater' has got to be one of the greatest album titles ever. One of my favourite lyrics is from "With Goth on their Side" (adopt best Dylan voice): Her brother's alright though, he's a good lad, is Wilf. 'cause he's into Placebo and Cradle Of Filth. But give me an album of theirs and I can't handle it - for some reason I cannot deal with more than one song at a time. The subtlety goes right over my head. This probably says more about me than them though.
