The cause was a migration of the system and audio server that took longer than I expected. Since friday the concerts and interviews are on line again. For those that are interested: I don't use a real media server anymore, but the real media files are just linked via a web server. That means that the client approach of the rm-files has changed. http://patrick.op.het.net.je/wire/ Grtz, Patrick ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 2004 04:00:10 -0700 (PDT) From: Jan Noorda Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Gone fishin' I do find that I want to throw the Wire on the fire and jump and down on it at times though. It is the most pompous, unforgivingly pretentious read...but i'm glad its there....it infuriates....but I would rather be infuriated by it than not infuriated at all. If you see what I mean. I do understand your opinion. But I don't know another magazine who is writing about music I do care for. And a challenge to understand their words.... It is not bad to be a little pretentious. There has to be some people who do defend the music we like, against not mentioning, commercialism, old fashioned cultural-philosophists, right winged policy, etc. The music paper industry in Dutch words is very poor. We had once our Vinyl with Gerard Walhof. And a nice paper with Cor Gout called Trespassers W . There is a Belgian paper called Gonzo Circus who are not bad, but not always strong written. So I did choose once for The Wire. And now I am thinking to support Ed Pinsent's Sound Projector. We even had once a review of A Wire issue in a big Dutch newspaper. Volkskrant. And Volkskrant mentioned they were the best Jazz magazine, ever was. They changed their readers goal, but with a same kind of approach. np Flipper: Gone Fishin' Yahoo! Eric, for all that I know, you could be right... cuz part of what I don't know is Gary Numan. I cannot point you to the bit that I am referring, perhaps by mentioning that it is the loudest part of the song, and it is prominent in the first 20 seconds, and repeats all over. It sounds like synthesized version of PiL's song. The synth sounds like Gary Numan era, so it could be that. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 2004 22:02:07 -0500 From: "dan bailey" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Golden Touch definitely. the liner notes observe that "where's you head at contains samples of 'this wreckage' & ...
