(Coil & Githead) [RLynn9@] Re: [idealcopy] gmb-H live performance ["Ian B" Subject: [idealcopy] Limited Wire content: someone at a record company's going to swing for this Dear all, In the UK, we have the first real heavy chart album scheduling pileup of the year today; by my count we have nine records out today which /either/ you'd expect to chart or have some IdealCopy interest (or in some cases, maybe both)... Of those, a couple of interesting points; in the new McLusky record (it's excellent, by the way) there's thankyous to one "Newman C" and one "Wire" in the acknowledgements; and, staggeringly, the new A Silver Mt. Zion has priority shelf spacing (facing the door on the centre shelf at eye-level, just under the new Morrissey record) in Cambridge Fopp. (Someone in the shop must like it; I can't see Constellation getting involved in shelf-space payola...) - - Andrew - -- Dept of Earth Sciences, Univ. What book? Wireviews says: Rumours suggest that the forthcoming Wire book will include a CD, which will comprise material from live 1970s Wire gigs, but at a much better quality than any available bootlegs. So what book's this then? And an official bootlet CD - Mmmm, sounds promising! What book? Ah yes, that old bought Pink Flag on vinyl scenario, then bought Pink Flag on CD, followed by the opportunity to get the remastered version with bonus tracks which actually sounds better than the original (some may take issue with this, but it does to me). Still with me? Ten years on and you get the chance to buy it with booklet and super-improved packaging, booklet and bonus CD. I'm not complaining really, those first three CDs in ace packaging will look great on the shelf and live material is always welcome - whatever the source. Perhaps we could run a sweepstake on when the SACD versions will come out... At least EMI still recognise that Wire are an asset to the back catalogue. - -----Original Message----- From: MarkBursa@aol.com [mailto:MarkBursa@aol.com] Sent: 17 May 2004 12:10 To: Clements, Bruno - BUP; idealcopy@smoe.org Subject: Re: [idealcopy] BooK? Ari > Ari, I think you're getting your wires crossed. The "concert footage" is a recording of the 'Send' set from the recent Scottish gigs. This will be released on Wire's Pink Flag label. The expanded Pink Flag album/book will be on EMI and contains recordings made in 1977. These are completely separate projects.
