Darn, those Yahoo! taglines strike again.... Entirely unintentional, I assure you Howard........ But you're right: can't imagine the serried ranks of corporate stylists, image consultants etc would get very far with either personality involved, although a bootleg video of the attempts would be worth seeing ....;-) Imagine it: "Now, Mark, Alex........when, as a first step to your image revamp, I asked you to put the bottle 'down', I neither meant 'down' your throat, nor indeed, where YOU chose to put yours, Mark. Smith is bang on, I reckon. They both seem to have that world-weary, hollow, leathery pallour of the dedicated piss-artiste. Neither man looks a picture of vitality, sadly........ Excellent stuff it is too...it lives up to your hype thankyou Keith and Andrew. Fennesz is available from http://www.boomkat.com who are somewhat unimpressed with the way Touch have distributed this release, which may shed some light on the difficulty in obtaining it. http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?merchID=13626 Saw Explosions in The Sky last week who were sadly rather dissapointing. (I recall Mr Rowland bigging these up a while ago.) Alas, we found ourselves comparing it unfavourably to the early Mogwai shows (pre Young Team) where you would be literally blown backwards when after teasing you with those tinkling guitarr lines they suddenly stamped on the their effects pedals and you got that *whoomph*!. Alas EITS had neither the soulful melodies, nor the starpower to carry of their Mogwai impersonation. ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V7 #141 *******************************
