"good" i take it, but anything more specific? a Swim band too... speaking of Swim: last week whilest at Wax N Fats in Atlanta, scouring through the used vinyl stacks, i came across a 12" for Immersion (featuring Colin Newman) called "Second Immersion". very cool stuff. is all of the Immersion stuff like this? Be interested in hearing Sparks contribution!! Finally got their last album Lil Beethoven the other day and it sounds *really* good on early listens. Well I've only played it 2-3 times, but on early listens I think it's great. Definitely worth it! > also several folks have mentioned just seeing Silo. never heard of the band, and AllMusic.com only lists their releases with no commentary. what are they like? "good" i take it, but anything more specific? a Swim band too... Both Swim albums are worth it. (Have they done anything else?) They create a real sense of power out of very little. I'm surprised Ian G said in his review (thanks BTW) that he could live without Templates. I think it's truly awesome. I know them only through the two swim team compilations, and three of their four tracks spread over the 2 comps are highlights for me. I'm afraid I too don't care terribly for Templates, perhaps because of its relative lack of unusualness in structure and time signature, unlike the other 3. I really should investigate their other releases There's wads of Silo stuff to listen to over at posteverything.com, so PJK "do yerself a favour"..... Regarding Immersion, in my experience (Low Impact - which has 3 of the tracks on the 12" - and the two swim team comps) it's pretty much all beautiful mellow music.) cheers h ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V7 #125 *******************************
