I think a cheap used amp is probably the easiest solution. As I have a spare pair of speakers the whole set-up could go in another room than our discreet mini system (with rebuilt speaker crossovers using Kimber and other capacitors. Try silver interconnect cable too, fantastic stuff. Instruments and voices sound more 'real'). Re Derek's point that "we've probably all got stuff on vinyl that won't, for a variety of different reasons, *ever* see the light of day on CD." My vinyl collection was never that big as I was always skint as a teenager (nothing changes) and some records were sold off (usually at a very poor price) to pay for dull things like road tax (how I miss my 12" luminous Trans Europe Express). Rock/pop reissues are covering most things (though I haven't tried looking for any Swell Maps CDs yet) but getting the particular version of Milhaud's Creation du Monde or Stravinsky's Rite of Spring which I was brought up on as a child is less easy. If anyone's interested mail me off list. Face value etc. I believe the gig (Carling Academy, Islington) is now sold out. Agree about the high placing of "I am the Fly" in anyone's list. Although if those shouting out for it at gigs did so as per Barbican gig, when the chorus was rendered in unison (and reasonable pitch) by some enthusiastic headbangers it'd be at least entertaining....
