I actually went to two stores because it had been sold out. The one where I did get it, had just got it in, and had to be brought out of the back. Surprisingly selling very fast in Utah. Being a Cure junkie, I had the majority of those songs on singles, mostly on vinyl. I think this is a great box set! There are some holes though. I wonder why Spilt Milk was not on the 4th disc with the rest of the Bloodflowers songs. Also the version of Pillbox Tales is not the same version I have on vinyl (which is cool). And you have to release World War sometime on cd as it was omitted on all the cd releases of Boys Don't Cry. In any case, love it, listen to it, rip it into mini albums like Standing on a Beach B-sides, and anxiously await the remasterd releases!!!! paulye Date: Sat, 31 Jan 2004 00:53:31 +0000 From: "Jason Rogers" Subject: [idealcopy] The Cure B-sides box set (and Fall reissues) Has anyone else here bought The Cure - Join The Dots: B-Sides And Rarities 1978-2001? I bought it on Tuesday and have pretty much been playing it nonstop all week. The remastered songs sound very good; it's a big deal because the early stuff hasn't been released on CD until now. I'm rocking out to "Pillbox Tales" right now. I can't recommend this box set enough, that's for sure. A few unnecessary remixes and covers aside, it's a nearly flawless four-CD set. _________________________________________________________________ Scope out the new MSN Plus Internet Software optimizes dial-up to the max! http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=byoa/plus&ST=1 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Jan 2004 16:03:47 -0600 From: "dan bailey" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] re: The Cure B-sides box set mine is en route from cduniverse even as i type, but i've whined before about the absence of the unreleased bloodflowers stuff, a la spilt milk & (iirc) 4 or so others. ditto for the lost wishes tracks. at the time, jason (i think) counseled me to remain calm & see whether the songs in question might not come out with the remastered reissues that start coming out before too long. anyway, i'm certainly looking forward to the box's arrival. i think the only tracks on there that i don't have are pillbox tales & do the hansa, given my inability to ever find the boys don't cry 12", but quite a few of the earlier b-sides i have only on the standing on a beach cassette. dan, just woken up from a dream in which i was pawing through the dusty back shelves of an old used shop & was delighted to find copies of lps by cabaret voltaire, the severed heads & blyth power ... clearly, this backwater's lack of a vinyl emporium is starting to get to me (though a recent stop at a fleamarket booth did yield lps by, um, the yachts & shakin' pyramids, not to mention eater's lock it up 12") >I bought it on Wednesday also at BestBuy. Suffice to say, Mr Lydon has yet to cause Ant n' Dec quite as much discomfort as Mr Fripp did last year. Johnny is getting on famously with BBC Royal Correspondant Jenny Bond, and Peter Andre. According to Malcolm McLaren, he's doing it because "he wants to be loved". > > Nora who? > > Cheers, > Robert (another) Mrs Johnny Rotten.....and isn't she one the The Slits' mum or something? ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V7 #32 ******************************
