How good would that be? 2: Circa 2024, ex-members of the Fall play the songs of the Fall. I'd favour a line-up of Hanley/Scanlon/Bramah/Burns/Wolstencroft. Graeme Rowland on vocals. Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 16:43:38 -0800 From: "Cambra, Robert" To: After having reading this description of the TV event as told by Pete Sinfield, I would have loved to have been able to see it: "Robert has always been - how can I put it - eccentric, and he hasn t got any less so. Now he s also running out of time, so has ever less 'space' for anything that he considers not to be essential to the core of his being - art, work, or whatever it is - apart from his wife. I don t know if you saw her on that island thing [I m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here]? She came off the island, and Robert was actually sitting there looking a little like a camp Gestapo officer. It s in the jungle, and he s got this big leather coat on and these glasses, and was rather severe. It was really good because he said [in a more than passable Fripp accent], I don t know why I should be speaking to you when I ve got my little wife sitting here next to me. Which was classic Fripp. Nobody else would have dared to say that in front of 13 million people. He doesn t care." Nora who? Cheers, Robert (another) Subject: [idealcopy] I am the AntiChrist....GET ME OUT OF HERE! [snip] The nearest the last series of 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' got to Punk was Toyah Wilcox who was a contestant last year. However, it was worth it......because when someone gets voted off, they bring their partner on to welcome them home. So, on the night Toyah gets voted off, cue a very surreal TV moment with Ant'n'Dec interviewing a bewildered Robert Fripp. Ant & Dec ask him about what it was like seeing his wife only on a TV screen for 2 weeks......and he becomes the first person to make reference to a "Money Shot", live, on mainstream ITV. I wonder what Nora will say!> ********************************************************************** This message is intended only for the use of the individuals to which it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged and confidential. I bought it on Tuesday and have pretty much been playing it nonstop all week. The remastered songs sound very good; it's a big deal because the early stuff hasn't been released on CD until now. I'm rocking out to "Pillbox Tales" right now. I can't recommend this box set enough, that's for sure. A few unnecessary remixes and covers aside, it's a nearly flawless four-CD set. Also, my copy of the new double-CD reissue of The Fall's Live At The Witch Trials came in the mail from Sirendisc today. Haven't had much of a chance to listen to it in depth, but it does sound much better than the old CD edition that I have around here somewhere. Witch Trials and Dragnet are both available right now, but I'll probably hold off on Dragnet for a while. Each remaster is going to have a bonus disc, specifics about the content of the bonus discs are unknown at this time. I hope that "Carnage Visors" will be included on the Faith bonus disc, as well as the single, "Charlotte Sometimes". The Three Imaginary Boys remaster should probably include the songs from the U.S. release, Boys Don't Cry, that didn't overlap the two albums: "Killing An Arab", "Jumping Someone Else's Train", "Boys Don't Cry", as well as the Easy Cure demos and the Cult Hero material. I would personally buy the remasters anyway without the bonus material, but the bonus discs for each album make the purchases far more appealing. It's around 600 miles between the two cities, which are linked by road and rail. Also frequent flights, but big jets don't go to Wellington as the runway's too short. er... that's it.
