Hearing the Britney / Wire dinbot mix again a few months later has been great. I *love* it!! The White Stripes album has probably dominated in the press over here. I know some folk here hate them (hi there Robert!), but even though I like it I really don't think it's the best album of the year (Spookily I caught up with an old mate over xmas who said "What's your fave album of the year - I bet it's Elephant"). Hope everyone had a good xmas - any noteworthy prezzies? I had Let It Be Naked, a Rod & the Faces compilation (I like Maggie May era stuff!!) and a very noisy / thrashy live album off my kids - NYC by The Gossip. Lo-fi isn't the word! Certainly one to get rid of unwanted guests ; ) Also had Michael Moore's Stupid White Men - only on page 10 and I'm depressed already. (he was playing off david johansen's "funky but chic" from '78, of course.) main prizes -- the dfa disc & junkie xl's 2cd of collaborations. & of course last week a local store's used racks coughed up robt wyatt's shleep & the dub meets punk rocker uptown comp, or whatever it's called ... dan > >I had Let It Be Naked, a Rod & the Faces compilation (I like Maggie May era >stuff!!) and a very noisy / thrashy live album off my kids - NYC by The >Gossip.
