It is a nice concept... but even when given some "image" as Peter Saville did with New Order and Joy Division -- I will admit that rather than some plain sleeve, use it for some kind of graphic design exposition, even if unrelated to music -- it failed in some sense. For most albums, people could not tell who the artist was, because the information is not very apparent in the design. At any rate, the merit of JD/NO can arguably be said to be rather good, yet, the lack of image/promotion did not allow for the music to speak for itself. It is an imperfect world, and cannot be approached with idealistic idea that do not resonate well with the imperfections. There is the idea that no image is itself, an image, unless everyone did it.
