We should be thankful "our Keith" was not suckered into Culture Club. By the way - has America been privelidged to witness the artform that is Britains new possible primary strike on the US.I am talking of course about The Darkness. By all accounts - I have not seen them live - they are quite fun & will go down a storm over there. Saying nothing ; ) Except... Teenage Boogie was by Ray Campi & the Rockabilly Rebels. (Not sure off hand who wrote it, mind) Great record. And yes, he did rip it off! Perhaps the best gig I ever went to was the Clash at the now burnt-down Sophia Gardens in Cardiff ('79 or '80 - it was the 16 tons tour, I could Google it I suppose)... But then they did a very disappointing 'greatest hits' tour a year or two later. The albums were a mixed lot (loved London Calling at the time but bought it on CD a couple of years ago and find most of it very dated/dull now) but they did have plenty of verve and at least one great vocalist. Still, they couldn't do too much wrong for me after the ghastly Dave Lee Travis on Radio 1 played Complete Control - still an incredible noise - and said it was the worst single he had ever heard!
