He has no interest in rejoining whilst Graeme is around. I've tried. If I can find his email address I will let him know that Graeme has left the building on a permanent basis though. From what I remember Mileta left after receiving abusive emails from Graeme after Mileta and I dared to say which Sonic Youth albums we preferred above others rather than subscribing to Graeme's view that everything they had ever recorded was of equal worth. From what I can tell it was a bit like his recent conversion to Killing Joke. Whether or not I was intened to get abusive emails too - either directly or posted to the list I don't know. I don't get emails from Graeme - I blocked his address years ago. I don't have the time to read mail from an immature little prick. Bill had raved about a recent Manchester performance, but it didn't quite cut it for me. I know this is unfair, but the young band weren't exactly Can (who is?), and for every exciting moment in the three VERY long numbers they performed, there were longish passages of musical nothingness. Still, it's not every day you get to see some old Japanese legend shout incoherently into a mic over discordant riffs for an hour and half. And there were SOME really good bits. Still, it was worth the admission to watch some local lass alone on the dance floor, demonstrating her very own Wrexham take on how to dance to what I will lazily resort to calling Krautrock. Even as someone who has been known to indulge in some fairly extroverted arm flailing on a dance floor in my time, I would not have dared to do this anywhere other than in my own home. With the curtains drawn. And the doors locked. But - on a more heartfelt note - when a smiling and emotional Damo walked into the small-ish audience at the end and shook hands with it's individual members, it was a genuinely beautiful moment. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 00:39:58 -0000 From: "Keith Astbury" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] OT: Qua diddley qua qua > who remembers his semi-self parodying role on northern exposure in 1992? more > interesting though might be to wonder what 1982 tv series would've interested > marc bolan for a guest spot? Hey! I've actually been stuck on this, Paul! Except that the My People Were Fair era Marc might have made a rather good Neil in The Young Ones! (Did you get that in the States?)
