Perhaps just adding fuel to a fire here, but believing that some people deserve to die and believing in the practicality of capital punishment are two different things. To make up an outsize example, I have dear friends who I desperately think deserve to get laid more often than they do, yet I think a government-run, ostensibly merit-based system of distributing sexual favors would be a house of bureaucratic horrors as well as presumably corrupt, hopelessly inadequate, likely to distort existing inequities more than soothe them, etc. How about that post-punk, then? I've never investigated British Sea Power, I think (now that I hear you-all describe them) based on confusing them with Victory At Sea and The Shipping News (not joking). a ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Sep 2003 13:25:42 +0000 From: "John Roberts" Subject: [idealcopy] guardian review Saturday's Guardian Review had two Wire related items in it.
