This is my penance for enjoying and searching out bands from various post-punk compilations that I own. I first went to Criminal Records and asked for it, but they said that it had not arrived yet and would probably be there within a few days. I then went outside and walked fifty yards down the street to Wax 'N' Facts, where they had one single copy. I bought it there for fairly cheap...$12.99 or so. In all fairness to Criminal Records, I did buy the new Frank Black And The Catholics album, plus the new Frank Black And The Catholics EP ("Nadine" single), there before I went to Wax 'N' Facts. Let me know how the Dandy Warhols show is. I won't be able to make it to that show, but I am going to see Mogwai tomorrow night at Variety Playhouse, Interpol at The Roxy on October 9, and R.E.M. on October 11. Maybe some stuff inbetween. I'm disappointed that Echo And The Bunnymen are not stopping by Atlanta for their 25th Anniversary Tour, but I saw them two years ago, so I probably can't complain much. Jason P.S. Catherine Zeta Jones is nice, but I prefer Eliza Dushku. Eliza is hotter than beach sand. From the days of "the hippy dippy weatherman" to present HBO specials, George Carlin, right or wrong, has opened my eyes to the strengths & weaknesses of the world around us. Much of his material is off color, however, ironically rings true. Much the same with Dennis Miller, wherever he shows up, and Bill Maher's past "polictically incorrect" and current HBO "real time" shows, seemingly strip away the "smoke & mirrors" of today's "1984 thought police" (mediated propaganda). Somehow, we all fit as cogs & gears in the "big machine", however, we should be aware that we are not sheep or lemmings. Coming to mind is Fritz Lang's movie "Metropolis" & should be viewed as a "right of passage" (circa 1972 synthesized version best IMO; the other 4 or 5 versions, silent, piano, Queen/Freddy Mercury, etc., are weak/pale in comparison). It's funny how when I read through these e-mails is that they trigger song references, today such as the Gap Band's "drop the bomb on me", Christchild's "washington ac/dc" & "blow it up", Buzzcocks "i believe", and Wire/154's "map ref., blessed state, once is enough, & the 15th".
