What was the gig like? they were in fine form last >time I saw 'em... > >Keith pretty solid, i thought, though i could've done with a longer set. they played about 50 minutes, a consequence of being on the 6-band "misfits fiend fest" package. never having seen them before, i can't compare this lineup's live powers to past ones, but at the very least i have no complaints ... except for the fact, i guess, that we didn't get new rose. (ditch the extended quasi-psychedelic break in the middle of neat neat neat & they could've done new rose probably 5 times, not to mention 2 others that they've apparently played elsewhere on this tour, wait for the blackout & nasty). can't remember every song they played -- there were about 10 -- but off the top of my head i can recall i just can't be happy today (which i decided about midway through would've made a fine vintage buzzcocks song as well), ignite, street of dreams (not that i recognized it, since phantasmagoria is the one album of theirs i don't have), smash it up, 13th floor vendetta, love song, history of the world & at least 2 -- song.com & amen -- off grave disorder. of course, maybe they'd have played a bit longer if the guy who booked 'em had actually paid the bands. supposedly everything went for hall rental, the pa & security, instead. jesus. dan ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V6 #238 *******************************
