I bought an import reissue of The Alarm - Eye Of The Hurricane that had the tracklisting completely scrambled from that of the original album that I had owned and wore out back during my high school years. The reissue had bonus songs from the Hurricane sessions and most of the original album songs were slightly different mixes ("how the band intended the album to be heard") that only sound slightly different (more guitar in the mix) and that I actually like as much as what I remember on the original album. As soon as I got home with the Alarm reissue, I copied all of the songs on the CD and burned them onto a CD-R in the original album order that I had grown up listening to, artistic intention be damned. I then stored the Alarm reissue with my other CD's in order and, to this day, have not even touched the original CD since I burned the songs from it; I just listen to the CD-R now. It's good to hear of the Television reissues and I'll definitely be checking out the reissue of Marquee Moon. I do believe, however, that a severe butt kicking is in order for some responsible party, as I just purchased the old Marquee Moon CD issue a year or so ago and now a reissue is coming out. This seems to happen to me a good bit...buy a CD that I've been wanting to buy for a while and then, right after I've spent the fifteen dollars or so, I find out that a remastered reissue is being released. So, a butt kicking is in order for somebody with the band or with Rhino Records. (Of course, I'm not required to buy the reissue, but it's the principle of the matter...lol) Also, a warning to all here to refrain from buying any old Cure albums this year, as Robert Smith is remastering and reissuing all of them, each with an extra bonus disc, in 2004. This is massive news for us Cure fans, as the B-sides and rarities are often just as good as the singles at hand. I am willing to bet that the bonus discs for a couple of the albums will be better than the albums themselves. A Cure B-sides box set is also due for release before the end of 2003. Echo And The Bunnymen are also remastering and reissuing their first five albums. Late 2003/2004 is going to be an interesting year for my music budget. This was from Colin's "Interview" 12" promoting Commercial Suicide (and added as an bonus track to it's re-issue). I quoted it on ideal copy a couple of days ago. I think Colin was joking!!
