Pete Murphy whipping a strobe light round his head like a lassoo. Saw them again the next year on the legendary tour with Subway Sect (crooner mode) and the Birthday Party and they frankly came across as rather camp and overly theatrical, and were completely blown off stage by the BP, who I'd not seen before. Subsequently saw the reformation tour in 97 which was a lot of fun. No-nonsense greatest hits show, played dead straight. They looked *exactly* the same as in 81.
