Hi everyone, The Fall are playing Seattle June 24th at Graceland. Tickets went on sale at 10:00 this morning. Cheers, Paul P.S. I can't believe this, but I might have to miss Throwing Muses on May 12th. My company might send me to Montreal. Hmm - unemployment or Muses. I'll have to think about that one... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 May 2003 10:51:04 -0700 From: "Paul Pietromonaco" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] PJ Harvey > I think you're right Paul. > How about this one though: > > http://members.rogers.com/bluebeardtoxic/highwaters/mm2.jpg > > I know her music from that era is a bit "testosterone" driven, > but... In fact, I'm listening to Metro right now. (^_^) I just read on posteverything.com how overwhelming the response has been ( http://www.posteverything.com/news/article.php?id=3318 ), so it's great to have the CD in my hands! (^_^) Thanks to PostEverything for working so hard to ship these orders. Kudos on the CD packaging, BTW. It looks first class. I've forgotten if we've discussed this, but who did the cover image again? Is that one of Graham's images? And who's finger is that, exactly? (^_^) Cheers, Paul n.p. As soon as I'm given the release date and some concrete details I'll >update the site, but this is all the news I have at the moment. I'd heard rumours that MES thought the album sounded "Overproduced". A recently fired band member said it sounds more like The Unutterable rather than Are You Are Missing Winner (i.e. great, not shite). Also, the label wrangling is apparently genuine. I really can't say any more, but it sounds quite amusing.. People fighting over an alcoholic in his mid 40's, backed up by whichever young mugs he can get together until they either wise up to his antics, or get sacked for no reason. Don't get me wrong - The Fall are my favourite band ever... but MES is a joke right now. I watched some avi's of an old (late 80's) interview with Mark and Brix, and I actually found it pretty upsetting.. He used to be so sharp, but now he's just a mess. I won't pay money to see The Fall (whatever that means) live any more. We should think ourselves lucky that Wire appear to be in such rude health (artistically, and also in terms of being able to tour / release records etc.). - -- Anthony Chapman ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V6 #127 *******************************
