My Question My interest in music started near 1977 and in that period of time a band called Wire appeared with their Pink Flag and I am very suprised they still can struck me. Even now when they are working on their so they say MarkIII period shows that they are not totally burnt out. And I think it's not by coincidence cause many bands were inspired by them. Like REM, U2, Joy Division, CarterUSM, Henry Rollins, Spoon, Big Black, Fennesz, Andrew McKenzie, Pansonic, etc. Even Brendan Perry did before starting DCD playing Wire. So my question is: Has there ever been Wire-related output by Einstuerzende Neubauten or by its members seperately. Another: Would it be possible to hear about a collaboration between the Pink Flag-posse and EN? Because I think the relation modern art, politics, avant-garde music, concepts are in both. Collapsed New Buildings with a Pink Flag on it is not a bad concept. Blixa's answer nothing against Wire, no, nothing against, but I don't think there was any input on EN, when we started, I didn't listen to them, later I did, but was somewhere completely different musically. But: Yes, nothing against them. Strong Band. Jan J Noorda ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V6 #58 ******************************
