And of course try to convince their fans, Wire couldn't be ignored. In my opinion are the EN not that sharp and Food for thought like they were in their early years. But still interesting, a kind of melancholy, and shaped with a poetic use of language. A little drowned in bliss. They started last year an idea to create a ceedee with their fans. You can sign-up for 35 USD and have a little influence on their coming album, they say. How they will manage? I'll try to find out. There is placed a web-cam in their studio, somewehere in Berlin I suppose and you can follow parts while they are rehearsing. Parts who are ready till that moment could be heard in straming-audio. Also the lyrics Blixa Bargeld could be read already. A fan gave some ideas to change these. And Blixa probably will. At the end of the sessions everyone who signed-up will get anyway the coming ceedee who was made "together". For me FM Einheit was a interesting member. I heard he left the band. There is a disturbing rumour Marc Chung is workin as vice-prez for Sony-Europe. And for me Blixa is working to much with Nick Cave & his Sad Beats. Nick is for me to much driving in his American Buick in the Middle of the Road. Maybe it is nice for singing with some family round the piano on sundays in november. I would say Wake up!!!!! Huck. I don't know if there are fans from Nick Cave, Giant Sand, Johnny Cash, Thindersticks, Jim Keltner, etc.etc. Sorry for that. For me the EN have mostly a link to the music which is sharp nowadays. There was a gig scheduled in Aberdeen which I perhaps incorrectly recall was mentioned at wireviews, but that seems to be in question right now. Its a shame as I've never been to Aberdeen so it might've been an interesting trip. The new edition of The Wire has an ad for a festival in Nantes, France at which WIRE are scheduled to play alongside Glenn Branca, Gold Chains. Massimo, Alva Noto, FM Einheit, Tim Hecker and many others. 21 & 22 March Colin has updated posteverything with this news, no doubt someone else has already noticed? Colin says, "It's an interesting line-up and shows off Wire quite well." There's a website for the event which I haven't yet checked... www.lelieuunique.com and phone no (00 33) 02 40 12 14 34 The Wire this month is quite interesting, with a big Faust cover feature and an illuminating article on Steve Roden. The articles on Joe Mcphee and Paul Dolden certainly made me curious to hear their music. On the accompanying CD documenting a Domino Records festival there are worthwhile tracks from Radian, Hanged Up, Bohrbug, Daiphlux. It also features the Dead Man Ray / Atom remix which is mediocre - hope Colin did a better job of remixing the same track! Which brings us nicely back to WIRE Just keep watching posteverything.com There might well be a warm up for the Barbican in a small venue TBC nearer the date NP Dafeldecker, Hautzinger, Tilbury, Sachiko M - Absinth (www.churchofgrob.com) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Feb 2003 17:07:53 EST From: MarkBursa@aol.com Subject: [idealcopy] OT - Crispy news From www.crispyambulance.com CRISPY AMBULANCE have begun work on their second album for Californian label Darla Records. Some of the material was written during rehearsals for the recent UK & USA gigs and attendees at any of those will already have had a sneak preview. Recording is scheduled to begin at Testa Rossa, where Scissorgun was recorded, in June. Graham Massey will once again produce. Just prior to the recording, CRISPY AMBULANCE will play The ICA on The Mall in London on 29th May. It will be the bandbs first performance in the UK capital since appearing at The Venue in May, 1982. Support is yet to be confirmed. Finally, Mute Records plan to release Deaf (Fac 32) as part of a double CD, Rough Trade 'post-punk' compilation. Comprising around forty tracks from bands of the same period, it is due to be released in May. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2003 09:00:26 -0000 From: Alistair Tear Subject: [idealcopy] Ideal Festival From the website...(English version not yet available) 'Wire marque l'Histoire de pihces dissonantes et merveilleuses d'une inergie extrjme, de paroles obscures et lyriques, de milodies new wave obsidantes ou de saturations noisy.'
