Other albums I listened to lately: Faust - Patchwork - is this the last release containing recordings from the legendary Wumme period? let's hope it's not, but even if it is, any Faust release, whenever it was recorded, is a cause for celebration. Deerhoof - Reveille - made a mistake about this one actually. Too prog-rock, and their singer is too sweet - not recommended. Asa Chang & Jun Ray - Jun Ray Song Chang - If you haven't heard or watched the clip of 'Hana' (featuring the sampled voice of Boredom's Yoshimi p-we) on PostEverything, then you should. The rest of the album is just as good. Add N To X - Loud Like Nature - Thier best since Avant-Hard. Kink Crimson - Happy with what you have to be happy with - this promotional single to their next album shows the same tendencies as their last - are KC finally turning into conservative prog-rock dinosaurs? Lost For Words - the excellent Leaf compillation (available very cheaply from PE) The Dillinger Escape Plan + Mike Patton - Irony Is a Dead Scene - their cover of Come To Daddy is a masterpiece. Swim 12"'s - their christmas bargain sale was too good to be missed - it was continued in January but I don't know if it's still on. Rudolph Rocker - A Selection of Cheeses - this rare 10" from Mook Records has one great song, Guy Debord - has anyone heard of this guy? I smell the stench of war in the air, giluz ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Feb 2003 06:38:57 +0000 From: "Jason Rogers" Subject: [idealcopy] Neu! - "Sonderangerbot" Okay, maybe some of you can answer this one: A few days ago, I bought the debut album from Neu! At 72 to 73 seconds into the second track, "Sonderangerbot", there is a sudden sound skip, as if there were a scratch on the CD. It doesn't look like a skip because the time keeps going on the counter and the music resumes just like normal, but it sounds uncanny. I've read that the sound drops/fade outs/etc. on the Neu! CD reissues are intentional, but I wanted to be sure about this one. The album is amazing, though. My favorte tracks are "Hallogallo" and "Negativland", but I always listen to the album as a whole. I already own Neu! 2 and Neu! 75 from a few months ago and feel that, in general, the music of Neu! kicks more ass than Lee Marvin. They were a great band.
