It was called Kidneys For Jesus, and was about a religious cult called The Jesus Christians. Some of their members were donating their kidneys (live donation, that is) to anonymous recipients, in the ultimate act of altruism. Whatever about trade in organs, this lot were doing it for free. The thing is, usually the point of these documentaries is to illustrate an essential flaw in the enterprise they are examining. However, the donors in this case seemed to be fairly genuine and levelheaded in their desire to help others. There didn't seem to be any coercion going on. The only 'slippage', or difference in outlook between their lives and ours, was the simple fact that they wanted to go as far as doing something as irreversible as that. I mean, way to go, but certainly not my idea of fun. But if that's what they want to do, well, more power to them ! Fair meat all the same ! That said, if you feel that their tracks are just decent, I'm not sure I would bother. This doesn't come up much on ebay, btw, but I've never seen it go for top collector prices. Keep in mind, it IS an out of print 2 cd set that's unlikely to be reissued, so no, it's not going cheap--usually in the 30-40 $ range. It's almost as if something that was irredeemably lost (the song as originally recorded) has been miraculously rediscovered in an improved version. And I can now listen to Pink Flag and overlay the new version over the old which improves my enjoyment of that already great album. And talking of ACDC again I had the misfortune to hear The Datsuns album yesterday. I usally listen to a bit of the stream to set levels, then restart it to start the recording proper. I can then save the file in any format I'd like. If you don't have SoundForge, I'm guessing just about any wave editor will work. I discovered this mostly because of my extreme contempt for the nasty folks at realaudio. A Pox on them! In the Creative mixer, on the far right is a microphone button, click on the microphone icon itself and select "What U Hear". Then start a recorder program (I use SoundForge, you use whatever you have). Give it a try, if it doesn't work for you don't have a beer in my honor. If it does work.....
