But some of the songs didn't help. 'Bye bye America' sounds like a Big Country reject b side, for example. Overall though I was really impressed, all the more so because I was semi-dragged to the gig. Naturally, I took this as a good omen, and decided on a punt. 1, 2, 3, 17, 42 and, er, 28. Didn't win a penny. 3 and 42 came up, and 1 was the bonus ball. But given that if I'd won, the least I'd have done is bought Colin Newman a drink, it stands to reason he now owes me a pint. Or at least my quid back. To all yahoo! and Yahoogroups users - This may be of interest to you. Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing - similar to cookies. Take a look at their updated privacy statement: http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/pixels/details.html About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo! Even managed to pick up the proper first album and Black Market Clash on CD cheap in the Virgin sale. And I've just read Marcus Gray's book which my partner had got me for Xmas. She'd bought it before the bad news. I haven't read the original so I can't say what's been added but it's a great read. Whilst I love the first album I always had the softest spot for Give Em Enough Rope. Yes, Guns on the Roof is a bit naff but the rest is awesome - Julie, English Civil War and Drug Stabbing Time included. This gets panned in Gray's book. I'm also a sucker for Combat Rock. Faves would be Straight To Hell (highly topical - 'they're ain't no asylum here'), the catchy Mick Jones' one ('we are tired of the tune you must not relent') and Death Is A Star.
