Decided to post it here because of the Wire inclusion. "The 15th" is one of my favorite songs of theirs (I still haven't heard the recent cover of it, though). 1. The Jam - "Going Underground" 2. The Chameleons - "Up The Down Escalator" 3. Joy Division - "Transmission" 4. The Sound - "Judgement" 5. Cabaret Voltaire - "Split Second Feeling" 6. Magazine - "The Light Pours Out Of Me" 7. Wire - "The 15th" 8. The Psychedelic Furs - "We Love You" 9. Gang Of Four - "Damaged Goods" 10. Bauhaus - "In The Flat Field" 11. Echo And The Bunnymen - "Do It Clean" 12. The Chills - "Pink Frost" 13. Pere Ubu - "Final Solution" 14. The Soft Boys - "I Wanna Destroy You" 15. Public Image Ltd. - "Go Back" 16. Mission Of Burma - "Dead Pool" 17. The Cure - "Primary" 18. Cocteau Twins - "Sugar Hiccup" 19. New Order - "Temptation" (1982 12'' version) Also, thanks to all of you who offered recommendations on which Cabaret Voltaire albums to get. Red Mecca is pretty amazing. They announced pre-gig that they would play an album in its entirety and speculation ensued as to which one from the back catalogue it would be. But when the time came and the first song started it was clear that they were playing - Iron Maiden's 'Piece of Mind'. All the way through, in order. And there I was thinking Wire had cornered the market in this sort of perverse behaviour. another the Keith ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 20:13:42 -0000 From: "Keith Knight" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] T Rex star Mickey Finn dies aged 55 Yeah, that's sad. I haven't outed my T Rex past here before but I was a huge fan at their peak - i.e. the first four singles - and Mickey Finn was a big part of their image. Speaking of recent pop deaths, how come Maurice Gibb was only three years older than Joe Strummer? He seemed to come from a different generation completely - which just shows how young the Bee Gees started and how old Joe was when he hit the big time. another the Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: Keith Astbury To: Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 8:53 PM Subject: [idealcopy] T Rex star Mickey Finn dies aged 55 > Never mind Joe Strummer. I can't really remember life before the Bee Gees and I'm 42! ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V6 #13 ******************************
