Ed No idea. Nothing in stock at Sister Ray for example. But found this comment on the Peel message board. "Hmm, have the campaigners finally got the better of Mr Peel? I find it hard to believe that this bland effort was the most popular of the year, it wasn't played much on the show. Shame Explosions in the Sky didnt make the 50, loved the weird Japanese track at 17 though" Whilst on the subject of 'campaigners', I can't remember who was number 50, but they'd been subject of some attempted votes rig - think he said they polled more votes than everyone else put together! Consequently, their voting was re-assessed. BTW The Peel festive 50 is available to listen to online, though please note it's a one-off 5 hour show. I made it to no. 34! And my special memory of 2002 will be the pre gig drink at Brighton when members of Wire & their entourage entered the pub & sat down with us for a drink. That was not an unusual occurance I was informed but it sure was a special evening for me.I was like a kid again & almost speechless...almost. Chris ///// Bloody hell, never thought I'd see the day when I'd be seen as part of Wire's entourage... yes, quite a year... my personal highlights were from opposite ends of the year: Jan 25 - the birth of my son, Aongus. Nov 7 - Wire in Brighton (especially enjoyable and memorable was Wire's pre gig hospitality, which included dinner and drinks... and then on to The Bristol Bar to meet the ICers...) Oh what a pearl, what a well made world... (My review and photos should be on wireviews in Jan). Meanwhile, hope everyone is enjoying the silly season, and best wishes for 2003, as I twist my ankle again on the obstacle course of kids toys that is our living room floor, in near narcoleptic states of exhaustion... I'll need a holiday to recover from it all !! I pre-ordered Retro from Rhino Records because I wanted to be sure that I got the bonus disc with the 17-minute version of "Elegia" (I downloaded this version on mp3 from a New Order site a year ago and really love it.). The tracklisting can be found on the Rhino Records site or on any New Order site My opinion is that the second disc (The Fans disc?) is probably worth buying the box set for; the second disc has songs like "Broken Promise", "Lonesome Tonight", "All Day Long" and lots of other album tracks that I like best from New Order, although they weren't radio hits. I'm also looking forward to hearing the original version of "Confusion". Despite the fact that I've been a New Order fan for fifteen years or so, I still have never heard the original "Confusion"; I've just never seen it available anywhere.
