Go and buy a piece of shareware called Total Recorder. It costs $10 from these people http://www.highcriteria.com It's the best $10 you'll spend on software. Recordds streams and saves them as WAV files. You can convert these to MP3 or burn to CD. Taping a stream is no more or less legal than taping off the radio with a cassette player. So long as it's for your personal use only, it's fine. Features a couple of "interesting" remixes for those who are interested in that kind of thing - firstly by the Polyphonic Spree and secondly by Scientist! The latter isn't particularly great but it's worth a listen just to hear Liam Gallagher singing over a reggae beat - interspersed with a spot of skanking...(though not from him obviously!) Bizarre. And an unlikely 12-1 outsider for the xmas number one. Personally I think everyone should buy it, just to stop the Pop Star - The Rivals carefully planned assault on the top spot... Earlier this year The Damned toured in support of Rob Zombie. Normally here in Dallas, opening acts are ignored, but The Damned were rounding booed, cursed and generally not appreciated. They opened with New Rose to a slightly negative response and each succeeding song yielded a progressively louder damning of The Damned. They tried to make the best of it, but it was really a bad scene. I expected an RZ crowd to at least appreciate the energy of the music, but I was absolutely wrong, As one guy yelled at them "Get your own show!" Good advice. This was the 4th Damned show for me over the years, and I've never felt so uncomfortable and out of place. At least I have good memories of the others (fave being the 1979 show). As one guy yelled at them "Get your own show!" Good advice, maybe next time. The one which springs to mind for that side of town is the one near the Dome at Greenwich. Alternatively, leave it late and pick up something plush for about #99 for the room on lastminute.com. We've done that before, and stayed on Park Lane.
