It's not too late to see some heads on poles." Quite. And it still tickles me that in Sheffield, where I was born in 1973, while 'Blockbuster' from The Sweet was No.1, Cabaret Voltaire where just up the road in their loft screaming Dada into their electronic boxes and pre-dating Sex Pistols. Utter cool. Real revolution. Class. Quality. Leather. Ace. Ambiguous. Sheffield. Steel. > > Monday Afternoon Wipeout: I prefer music in the dark. I hate afternoons...so I might as well work during them so that I can work for the government that gave Graeme the flu' via elaborate helicopter conspiracy (is that on Bend Sinister?) ...and spend public money on the following: Fennesz - Field Recordings 1995-2002 (Ace odds&sodds collection of the genius Christian F...alas minus his covers of Paint it Black and I Just Wasn't Made for These Times...but at best sounds like someone pouring liquid electro over your face...nice) Kids Indestructible - The Maestro (Fennesz homage by yours truly...to be released next year if my record company understand it) Silicon Scally - Mr Machine (The darkside of Electro....makes Fischerspooner look very silly ) Akufen - My Way (FM radio transmissions spliced and cut up to make immaculate House music 2002 style...William Burroughs meets Pete Waterman....fucking genius) Errorsmith - Errorsmith 2 (Clanging mettalic drums, just drums!....with infectious skittering beats that US R&B producers will be ripping off in 2004...beautiful, stupidly loud and somewhat insane) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Nov 2002 23:17:32 -0600 (CST) From: voyteck@webtv.net Subject: [idealcopy] Streaming Wire Thanks Mark! The description of the CD on eBay looks enticing enough to have asked about the Chicago Metro show CD. The kicker was the mention of it including the pre-show music, which was brought up on IC in 2000, as a mix of Disney (Snow White?) and a couple of other odd sources. For Ari & the curious, the link for the Chicago Metro show video (as well as a Wire link plethora!) thanks to cracked machine: http://www.supersphere.com/Club/NoisePop/ Thanks/Regards, voyteck ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V5 #374 *******************************
