Punk was vooral houding. Paul S. The Buzzcocks - 'Spiral Scratch'...which i just happened to play over the weekend and my vote for greatest ever EP (only just ahead of 'Snakedrill', i hasten to add). Rapeman - 'Budd'...a shock after Big Black quite frankly... MBV - 'You Made Me Realise'...inc. 'Drive It All Over Me', forgotten how good this one was... The Go-Betweens - 'Part Company'...just sublime, (the 12-inch i'm counting as an EP here) also including the equally wonderful 'Just A King In Mirrors' and 'Newton Told Me'. obviously, there's loads more...nice one Keith A, for remembering the Snapper EP...!!! these were just the first ones that came to mind... ian.s.j. _________________________________________________________________ Internet access plans that fit your lifestyle -- join MSN. http://resourcecenter.msn.com/access/plans/default.asp ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Oct 2002 23:34:03 +0100 (CET) From: Bo Krogsgaard Subject: Re: [idealcopy] WIR3O Note: This is probably only of interest to the really hardcore Wire (or Hafler Trio) fans, so excuse me if i bore you. > Anyway, i was wondering if anybody ever solved the anagrams on the WIR3O > single or at least tried? I tried three years ago but only got the first > one down. Okay, i will elaborate. I just fetched the entire list digest archive and never saw this subject brought up, and this has been bugging me for so long time that i have to bring it up. For those of you who do not have the WIR3O single, look at http://brainwashed.com/h3o/wir3o.html - The back of the sleeve has six lines (reproduced on the page as well), which are in fact anagrams. Typical Hafler Trio (H3O) thing to do (with friendly apologies to Andrew if he actually lurks around here :) Take this line: 1 ACCREDITED FRIVOLITY HAVING JOKED TAKER (8,2,9,2,3,3,8) The numbers at the end represents the number of letters in each word of the anagram sentence. It actually means "Recorded in Reykjavik at The GOD Facility". The GOD Facility is Andrew McKenzie's old studio in Reykjavik (which might still exist if he actually succeeded in getting it moved). There is a typo in at least one of the other lines, but they are all anagrams for the actual credits for the record. Did anybody ever figure out the other five? Did anybody ever care to at all? b ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Oct 2002 22:37:15 +0000 From: Andrew Walkingshaw Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Some More Great EPs On Tue, Oct 29, 2002 at 06:53:20PM -0000, Bill Hick wrote: > (in no particular order) > > WIRE - Read and Burn 01 > WIRE - Read and Burn 02 I wasn't counting these, for some reason.
