By chance I read an old review of a WOH LP from 2000 a couple of days ago. Reference points were Can, David Holmes and Massive Attack. Are they accurate, cos that sounds right up my tree. I can play both on guitar and find them totally different. But... The Offer has a riff that goes from D up to G and then (a few chords later) back down to the starting point of D. GSTQ goes A to D then (a few chords later) back to A. So I guess you could say both riffs are I-IV progressions in different keys. ===== Andrew Westmeyer anw7pima@yahoo.com HotJobs - Search Thousands of New Jobs http://www.hotjobs.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 16:18:37 -0700 (PDT) From: Ari Britt Subject: [idealcopy] Fw: Take a minute to remember Otis this weekend. > To: "Ari Britt" > Subject: Fw: Take a minute to remember Otis this > weekend. > Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 18:39:20 -0400 > > > > > > >Otis Blackwell > > > > > >"Goldy" Goldmark of Shalimar Publishing said (to > Blackwell) 'You can > write > > >about anything. Copyists~~ So last night I bought my tix for Wires San Diego and LA shows and wanted to pass on some cool info about that process! http://www.billions.com are Wire's booking agency and they have just set up a ticket purchasing system that is pretty reasonable (~$2/ticket)! Which is great for San Diego, but for LA you end up with a fee of $8 postage for the tickets to be mailed to you. However, if you go to the El Rey Theater's site you can buy them there for a couple buks extra, avoiding the $8 postage fee for the same show via Billions. http://www.theelrey.com/ So I have written to Lydia the Lurker :) about these shows...any other SoCal Copyists around? Hell, I may end up at the SF Fillmore show too! (In spite of my hatred of Clear Channel!)
