Their `performance' of digital I found very moving (but this is from someone who cried during `Titanic' so don't pay too much attention). One might quibble with some of the casting, age-wise (Gretton too young and thin, Curtis too old) but overall good performances all round - yes, even Steve Coogan. Script perhaps not always the best - e.g. the uninitiated wouldn't get the point of Peter Saville's fleeting appearances to deliver posters for gigs already happened. It's a different mix - but it's from the same elements. The version on Tonal Evidence seems to be from earlier in the sessions - before they'd added as many sound effects to it. No buzzsaw guitar, no percussive swishes for instance. I have a total of four versions - the Tonal Evidence version, the version on the Drill CD, and two versions on a promo single. The two promo versions are labeled Radio Edit and LP version. The Radio Edit sounds suspiciously like the Tonal Evidence version, but shorter. The LP Version is pretty much the same as the version on the Drill CD. But, don't take my word for it!
