Low Kick was far and away my favorite album of 2001. Really hard to describe the style, but it made me think of disassembling old Hollywood musical scores--some show tune, some spaghetti western--and rebuilding them slightly off-kilter. A very Wire spirit in it for sure. In case anyone here belongs to eMusic--and if you don't, look into it; great way of acquiring loads of music very affordably--you can get 3 of her albums there. on 01.2.02 7:25 PM, Eardrumbuz@aol.com at Eardrumbuz@aol.com wrote: > anyway, you may be > interested in going back through some of teh old posts where there has been > much talk about pil and metal box in particular...about 99 44/100% positive > pil talk round these parts, incidentally ;o) For being a quarter century old (almost) it's amazing how fresh that early PiL still sounds. Pity that Lydon lost the script once Wobble & Levene left. BTW, and I'm not sure whether this is taboo on this list--let me know if it's not and I'll cease and desist--I have several early PiL boots that I'm always happy to swap or provide gratis via mp3.
