Not bad, considering the price (about #17 for 3 CD's). To be honest, I'm more a fan of their earlier work, but there's some good "dance" stuff on this one. From: BillyD Has anyone picked up the Cabaret Voltaire box set yet? I know the other reissue won't be out for a few weeks. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2001 19:05:48 +0300 From: giluz Subject: [idealcopy] Live - new music software To anyone who's into making music on the computer, Live is a very interesting and promising software with a very cool interface. I've got it and its great. 3 CDs or Cabs rarities from their 80s electro years. Its a pretty good collection, and doesn't sound like a bunch of out-takes at all....there is some prime Cabs stuff amongst this lot. Much better than the BBC Sessions CD that came out a couple of years back. The live stuff isn't quite so essential (its a set from the Groovy Laidback & Nasty tour) but curious all the same. Great sleeve notes too, with tributes from the likes of Ralf Hutter, Derrick May, Throbbing Gristle, Orbital etc all saying very inspiring things about the Cabs. A bargain at #15 too! I'm looking forward to the 'Original Sound of Sheffield' comp (all the 12" mixes from the same era) which is still due on Christmas eve. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2001 08:44:33 +0100 From: "bartvandamme@home" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Live - new music software > To anyone who's into making music on the computer, Live is a very > interesting and promising software with a very cool interface. > > Download the demo (PC/Mac) from www.ableton.com > > cheers, > giluz I'm downloading it as I'm writing this!
