I think they only did two more LPs after that. Neither were as essential as the first two. Bel-Air was a bit too light and cheesy, with really ropey vocals from female-folk duo Pooka. The last record, 'A Users Guide' is a much more minimal, stripped down sound and as such just sounds like any old electronic record. Not bad but hardly comparable to the originality of the earlier stuff. Probably deleted now anyway. Of course there were two records *before* 'Every Man...' called 'Wyndham Lewis' and 'Folk' which I've never heard! Not sure what they were like but I understand they had more of a 'live-band' sound, more vocals and not much sampling/electronics. Has anyone heard those early records ? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Dec 2001 23:19:01 EST From: Eardrumbuz@aol.com Subject: Re: [idealcopy] (OT) Ultramarine/Cabs/Bunnymen/Wyatt/Yeah! Has anyone heard those early records ? yes! these two are on my list... a long list, but we all have lists don't we? ;o) they were originally released on crepescule, and being a bit of a factory records fanatic, i like to hear all the related stuff. so, i think i'll avoid the ones that came after united kingdoms, unless they turn up cheap somewhere...and the search for the early ones continues... - -paul c.d. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Dec 2001 09:12:26 +0100 From: "bartvandamme@home" Subject: FW: [idealcopy] My sympathy to you Brits >> I'm still pining over the Dutch team not making it ot the WC wich is a >> bloody disgrace! > I agree...i really enjoy following the Dutch team during the World Cup...it's > a shame they are not there this time....what the hell happend?! > Robert Well, Dutch football [on every level] is in a state of crisis, wich is painfull to have to witness. Coach van Gaal has just resigned and cpt. Frank de Boer has said the relation between coach and players had been terrible. "van Gaal doesn't appear to know the difference between being a coach for a club and for a national team." he said. But as I said, the fact that the players are a bunch of overpaid primadonnas is also part of the problem. Baaaad mentality!
