Did receive last week the Swim #2 ceedee, and here's my kind of review And indeed after hearing the tracks there are things to look forward to. To start and finish a sampler or any kind of trackrecording ceedee is important. It has to bring the listener an impression where it will bring him or what will be pleasent to keep in mind when the ceedee stops. In former days this was there twice. An lp has two sides. The compiler chose to start or finish with an atmospheric track. You could use these for b.e. documentaries. The start Silo a more Chrome/King Crimson-like repetitive rock-tune. Pleasant tension. Second track: Toucaen. Sounds good. Could be an track for a Gosts of X-mas past sampler. Host: This is one af my favourites. Very sensual sound with these little creepy nearly touching your skin sounds and Malka of course. Bumpy funny track. Music made by one who grows up in a world where music and sound is as normal as bread an tea with or without milk. Colin's track rocks in a very basic style. Yes this mesmerises. Should this be a leader for a car tv-program. Silo again with the boss remix. Unbelievable to change Silo nearly up to Sepultura. Immersion with FSA Guitar sounds if Robin Guthrie should take part. Twenty years ago we should say new wave. Lobe a little dispointed . Ian first two ceedees on Swim were very good. Maybe is one track not enough to convince me he did again. Dictaphone Oliver Doerell again (plays also on the Host track). This could be a Made To measure vol 45, These were a fantastic serie on Crammed disques. I am still searching for Benjamin Lew's Le Parfum du Raki. Does anyone of you have this item? Symptoms. We already know this from the album Apathy. One of the favourites last year. Malka Spigel. I am not only looking forward to Colin new album but Malka's. Is she singing Hebrew? Good pop-song. Beatkitten . New name Drinking and drowning in a cool modern jazzy cafe or coffee-shop. Colin Newman: time will allow. Yes indeed another highlight. Glad this is the edit version. I want more. Silo again This is fantastic to change from Colin into the sound Silo. Good work from the compiler. Bumpy again. Drums and biscuits Immersion. Starts with their particular sound. I am cuious how their album will develope. Frederik AMitzboell: Is this the other brother of Symptoms Klaus who play in Silo and likes the music of the man with the same family name. Symptoms: There he is. Klaus Maybe a questuin of degree, What are the differences in style of the AMitzboell brothers. Or are they twins? Immersion's Outtro: Maybe a little confused it stops with the idea my ceedee has not bnurned well. I think Colin is a funny bloke and was not in the mood to fade out. The stop track. Atmospheric sound with a back to earth joke? After hearing the ceedee I must say the compiler did do his or her work good. It's hard to make a nice complete album by music made in different styles. and to Swim ~... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Nov 2001 08:14:21 -0800 (PST) From: Ari Britt Subject: [idealcopy] shriekback for those with an interest, the shriekback website( www.shriekback.com )which was set up and is run by fans, have a fund raiser to get them back in the studio, which they have agreed to do. according to 'the music press' this is the 1st. time fans have raised money to do this, there are,to reach that goal, some untill recently unreleased c.d's,some only avcailable to members(yes you can join)c.d's.including both versions of Jam Science, which have been committed to c.d using a very good turntable/arm/cartridge combination.Go check it out.Ari Yahoo!
