After all, he owned them something for name of the band and album ). I like Jacques and find that Bowie version of Amsterdam is breathtaking (for me). Mark Almond have Jacques complete dedicated to Brell, but sadly never heard anything from it, is it worth !? I can find that some pathos of Breel songs can be find in some Ocean Rain arrangements, but, in fact i will never thought that way, if i didn' t know from earlier times that Brell passion... Jacques Brell was very fine, i think that i mentioned him month ago on this list. Once saw his live performance, and get hooked immediatelly. I think that have some sense.. but, shame that they missed Haeven Up Here ( their most groovy & tour de force by my opinion ) and Porcupine ( most psychedelic one ). I wasn't hear Flowers but is Flower then Grey album or Reverberation. btw, Mac will offer to us on Jeepster solo album, and i think that there will be live CD.. i adored that September Song from Ian McCulloch.. my friend still owned 7" agree also that Zephyrus is fantastic one, and expected very grrovy one from Electarfixion, which is in full worthy only for Will's guitar and few good ones. Seems like a lot of Mac's vocal timbres are lifted from Brel, not to mention the (over?)dramatics that characterize some Bunnymen songs... In 1986, Momus did an EP of three Brel covers. The title track, "Nicky," is a hilariously, savagely Momus-ized update of "Jacky," while the other two songs are fairly straight-ahead translations and performances (all quite good). Long time ago i heard one album when i visited friend ( sorry i don' t know name ) and something from Tilt, and i like it, but somehow never was in search for more. Can you gave me some suggestions, and what Walker cover from Brel. I know that SW is hero of many of our heroes ( as i heard he done some production job for Pulp ) and especially J.Cope. This Heat "24 Track Loop" Throbbing Gristle "20 Jazz Funk Greats" ACR "Knife Slits Water" Caberet Voltaire "Knife Slits Water" Pop Group "She is Beyond Good & Evil" 23 Skidoo "Vegas El Bandito" Kind of an early 80s proto-dance music thing. Probably old news to a lot of you but mostly unheard for me (except for League, ACR and Cabs) All great stuff, (and very nice to have to get 12" version of Knife Slits Water on CD)...and easy to see the influence of a lot of this stuff on current electronica/dance music. , except for the Slits track...can't stand that kind of "cute iccle girly" vocal....were they anything to do with that bloody awful 'There Goes Concorde Again' record?
