His recorded material (esp. Presque Rien #2) has moments that sound a bit like Music for Fruit and Haring. Bruce has definitely used Luc Ferrari CD's when Beekeeping, but whether he heard them before that I don't know, however I have a sneaking suspicion that even though he may deny it he and Graham have both listened to Ferrari (but maybe after Dome / Music for Fruit). Music for Fruit is however very much a masterpiece that mixes musique concrete and a small bit of techno art rock mentality and comes up with something as good as if not better than the best of those various worlds / times. As for Ocsid - I hear more similarities to Coil & Throbbing Gristle & Pan Sonic than Ferrari, and funnily enough I also hear similarities between the Coil Time Machines CD and Immersion's :Low Impact: although I have it from the horses mouth that Malka & Colin are not familiar with the Coil disc in question. Giluz suspected >>>>Bjork albums) was much more inventive and interesting. I've got a strong suspicion that the new album is also a yawn machine. I've heard it and it is. Bjork is alright though at least the first Kukl album was great. Matmos appear on the new Bjork album but you'd be much better off picking up their 'California Rhinoplasty' EP. Better new albums to check out in the last few weeks include: Eardrum (via posteverything.com), Swim Team 2 (what/ You haven't heard it yet?), A Silver Mt Zion, Rehberg & Bauer, OOIOO, Fugazi LP & 7", V/Vm hate you, Oren Ambarchi, Neubauten Berlin Babylon soundtrack & Strategies 3 compilation & Pendro & the new Pan American album is darn good too but not out for a while. And as for Flux Information Sciences? What a band! And Paul make sure you get the Fennesz album before the Bjork one...... you won't regret it! Although I must say Hotel Parallel has proved rather disappointing compared to all his later work..... Everyone should hear Endless Summer & The Magic Sound of Fenn O'Berg & noise fans mustn't miss the Fennesz CD on Touch named after the map ref of his birthplace And if you live in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland watch out for Melt Banana - saw them 3 times in UK and they are one of the best live bands around. Unique, and faster than Wire. Yes, they are even better than Simple Minds, as unbelievable as that may be! LUYH!
