Luc Ferrari at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. An incredible "live" set of a Cage-like piece (in theory, more than in actual sound) was followed by a "duet" with a turn-table artist from Montreal (Ferrari used cds). My only complaint was that the turn-table guy depended so much on standard scratching that I sometimes wondered why he had bothered to change records. I have no idea if Wire (Bruce and Graham?) listen to Ferrari, but at times I heard similarities to Ocsid. His recorded material (esp. Presque Rien # 2) has moments that sound a bit like Music for Fruit and Haring. I have not heard anything from it yet...What about the previous soundtrack album, is that decent? I know Mark Bell of LFO (the Sheffield Bleepsters) fame produced it so it can't be half bad.... I've got a strong suspicion that the new album is also a yawn machine. giluz ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Oct 2001 11:45:33 EDT From: Eardrumbuz@aol.com Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Bjork i've only heard the one song and thought it was very beautiful. i liked what i heard from the soundtrack (selma songs) too, but i haven't bought that yet either. the new song sounded somewhere in between "all is full of love" and the more orchestral sound of selma songs. - -paul c.d. I am maybe one of few who like Exciter, but i think that CD can be more effective and direct with other producer , shame that Flood didn' t have time ! But now he remixed Free Love and people said is better than on Exciter. and this weekend i mostly listened.. Taken from their universally acclaimed "Exciter" album, 'Freelove' is written by Martin Gore and produced by Mark Bell. The new single boasts a rhythmically grooved Flood remix plus 'Zenstation' and 'Zenstation (Atoms Sereonerd Remix)'. "Exciter" already houses two UK hits: the hypnotic first single 'Dream On' and the recent Ibiza summer anthem 'I Feel Loved', which spent six weeks in the UK top 75. The "Exciter" world tour broke box office records all over America this summer and received dazzling reviews. The European dates have been greeted with an equally rapturous reception and, like their American counterparts, are completely sold out. The band are on sparkling live form playing standout tracks from "Exciter" coupled with songs from their immaculate back catalogue. Visually the show is simply stunning. The set has been designed by their longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn. Depeche Mode reach the UK next month when they play: 17th October LONDON Wembley Arena 18th October LONDON Wembley Arena 20th October MANCHESTER, MEN Arena 21st October BIRMINGHAM, NEC All dates are completely sold out Depeche Mode will be supported by Fad Gadget (this was from Mute site) after that will be Goodnight Lovers DVD.. i think around Christmass cheers mileta ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V4 #305 *******************************
