Just can' t believe it !! But my brother heard or read on some media !! Some MU players thought it was one drop to full a glass and ask from club to stop him or drop him ( it is well knowm that he is sick of MU and want to go to Celtic or Rangers , forgive me ' i don't know right.. and that he is sorry because he didn't get to Juve few years ago..) Problem is that Sir Alex love him, and is ready to forgive him so many gaffs ( do you remember how Shearer get him off the tracks in Newcastle ) Well, he thought that Rud keep a ball unnecesserally and slow MU play... It has a really simple inerface and makes splitting the recording into tracks a breeze. I have tried all kinds of hiss elimination and equalization solutions from soundforge to cooledit to discdoctor and in general, my opinion is that , a good quality source signal is more often degraded by the process than improved and a poor quality recording might be made slightly more palitable to your personal taste, but you cannot add missing signal your milage will vary - but none of the easy fixes (discdoctor or other preset filters) were acceptable to me in digitizing vinyl or tape - i go for a good source signal and let it roll ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Oct 2001 16:06:25 +0200 From: "Mileta Okiljevic" Subject: Re: [idealcopy] OT JPJ & KC > Also, has anyone heard the album JPJ did with Diamanda > Galas? From horse mouth ( Diamanda's web-site ) > February 1994, Diamanda travelled to Bath to start work on a collaboration with former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Attractions' drummer Pete Thomas. Jones had been enamoured of Galas ever since he heard 'Wild Women With Steak Knives' some twelve years earlier, but it wasn't until 1989 that he finally saw her perform at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, an event that solidified his long-time desire to work with her. The results of the union, 'The Sporting Life', were released by Mute in September 1994. "When I first talked to John about this in terms of the lyrics, I said that I had wanted for years to do this sort of record of homicidal love songs - psychopathic love songs, you know - and we both had a good laugh about that," she said. The title itself came from criminal parlance, for how pimps see themselves as living. "In the '70's, the sporting life where I was living and working in Oakland, it actually meant 'the life'," Diamanda explained. "The life outside of regular life, where pimps and whores were not living as civilians, in this other lifestyle. There was a film called that in the Superfly period, and so it's kinda taking this as a joke, having a bunch of women, instead of good ol' boys or pimps, walking down the street going, boy, what a cute ass, let's kill him, okay, I'm going to kill this fucker. Like braggadocio. I'm having fun of the whole New York rap idea, they're talking bitches the whole time, which is so corny. I have references to Snoop Doggy Dogg, fuck 'em in the ass. So yes, I had a lot of fun on this LP. I like making fun of certain people anyway, they need to be made fun of." The single, 'Do You Take This Man' found Diamanda chaining her errant husband up and wielding a knife at his treacherous face, while the tracks 'Tony' and 'You're Mine' were altogether more vampiric. Jones and Thomas provided the perfect foil for Diamanda's wiles, in styles that ranged from melodramatic Greek-tinged Zeppelin through to funky, Hammond organ lead soul on a beautiful reworking of Percy Sledge's 'Dark End Of The Street' and the sparse blues of 'Last Man Down'. "I needed to play with someone who knows all the music, and we never had to pause in our musical conversations because someone didn't get it." Both Diamanda and John Paul had been brought into music by their respective fathers' bands. Said Jones; "No other explanations were necessary." mileta ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Oct 2001 18:44:57 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Graeme=20Rowland?= Subject: [idealcopy] Falling Footballs >>>>On the back of one of the early Fall record sleeves (Dragnet, Witch trials or somesuch) there's a photo of MES outside the ornamental gates of Maine Road in kind of homage mode...
