Just thought I'd share this. Just picked up a copy of The Danse Society retrospective Seduction (including the mini-EP called, er, Seduction plus most of the early singles) as I was very impressed at an impressionable age by this lot in 81/82 and spent the next year "writing" my own versions of most of their tracks for the band I was in. (Of course they are in the peaked-early-downhill-afterwards, even before their first "proper" album in fact, and they ended up in the Goth "bin"). In the sleeve notes, kybrdist Lyndon Scarfe, writes about "the diversity of individual influences that helped shape the sound of the band. These ranged from Hawkwind on one side right through to Eno on the other passing through Crass, Wire, Killing Joke, Joy Division, reggae, funk even Todd Rundgren ..." I hope that's genuine and not a bit of cred- seeking hindsight - I guess not from that list! - but I do like it when someone I like likes someone else I like (ref. Tim Gane listing Bruce as one of his top 3 gtrsts).
