Will people PLEASE refrain from quoting ALL the posts they are replying to. It really is a pain when we get the digest version. And no, I can't change this, as I receive emails at work (I don't have a PC at home), and I can get away with receiving one email per day (but not 20 or 30), from IdealCopy. Someone was having problems with his new speakers. Perhaps the amp is fucked! I've done the same. My speakers kept cutting out, but if I tapped the bass drivers they recovered. Eventually I went out and bought a new pair - - only to discover the problem hasn't gone away. The speakers are better than the ones I had before - but I'm still pissed off that I now have to save up for a new amp - and these things cost far more than speakers! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 02:00:06 -0700 (PDT) From: Wireviews Subject: [idealcopy] OT: Seefeel Tim wrote: WV warbled: > Seefeel. "vive le rock" is the one that has some merit but prince charming/strip/friend or foe are real stinkers. "manners & physique" is marginally better , but these are discs to pick up for a quid and no more. my advice would be to sell all your marco stuff and put it towards the box set (the punk-era disc is great) or , better still , try and track down some old bootlegs or the peel sessions cd. "dirk" remains of course a classic. p ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 07:39:06 EDT From: PaulRabjohn@aol.com Subject: Re: [idealcopy] poll.... albums i'd love to see released on cd ; MZUI dancing did ; and did those feet prag vec ; no cowboys sudden sway ; space mate / 76 kids forever uk decay ; for madmen only albums that could do with a re-release; commercial suicide / it seems monochrome set ; lost weekend must be loads more i'd think. p ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 06:47:29 -0500 From: "David McKenzie" Subject: [idealcopy] Re: OT Poll Television haven't released anything decent since their third album ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 06:59:33 -0500 From: "David McKenzie" Subject: [idealcopy] Re:s/w >(an excellent 90 minute MP3 - can anyone suggest some software that I could use to edit that into two parts for easy burning?) Nonetheless, just about everybody I knew in Leeds, particularly in the early to mid eighties was in a (at least one) band, starting a band, between bands or considering some kind of musical 'project'. There was a healthy independant cassette and fanzine scene, gigging scene a bit iffy - but in the main, exciting times (at least for those of us involved). I don't think there was anything that was ever desribed as a Leeds 'scene' though, in the same way as Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield etc. The city itself at the time seemed a pretty nasty place, quite depressed and unpleasant. These days it's a boom town, and much more relaxed and cosmopolitan.
