Did anyone else happen to see AI this weekend? Started off ok, but then turned into some bollocky nonsense... I want my $7.50 back... Guess I should have seen Pootie Tang instead. How come noone ever mentioned Orb's 'Cydonia'? I think it's a great cd. Nowhere near the older stuff, but good anyway... Cheers, Billy ===== . ./\/\/\. [ . . ] /\ -- -Get Well Sammy! Try to get the Matador reissue CD as it includes 2 brilliant tracks that aren't on the vinyl - one of these, 'Tell My Horse' is especially recommended to anyone who rates 'The Other Window' from 154 highly. The album closes with a long track based on the rhythms of various digital watch/clock alarms. I have one other CDEP by Cicle X - an earlier one reissued on Dexter's Cigar, not quite as accomplished as this one. I'd say that if you like Neuabauten, Virgin Prunes, PiL, Killing Joke, no wave & Wire then Circle X is a must hear. Does anyone know if they made any other records? Hadn't listened to Bailter Space for a long time either, and gave that Tanker album a spin today... last couple of tracks on side 1 really kick it good but I think their best records are the Photon EP (imagine JoyDivision Incubation played by Sonic Youth) and the Gordons Future Shock EP (plus Projects from Vortura). Saw BS at the Phoenix festival the only day I ever spent there. They played a short explosive set to the members of Shellac, Girls vs Boys and about 10 other people... certainly better entertainment than Buzzcocks, Killing Joke & Iggy Pop & various other cabaret acts that were happening on the main stage. I also saw Peel faves the Janitors once and was quite impressed by the fatness of the singer. On the radio his immense girth had not been apparent. My arrows leave a thread behind... I presume the desk will pick up signals from whatever is nearby, Fridges, heating systems, computers etc. hence the pulse. Switches and faders will create pulse and noise as well if they are a bit worn. I know my little mixer does this. >Admit it, you haven't actually heard him or Toshimaru >Nakamura perform have you? Of course I haven't. I've only read about this stuff in The Wire. I'm interested but no enough to actually go and seek this stuff out. Thats your job! Anway, I can't be arsed with all these earnest looking young men with laptops churning out drones and crackles! Sod it!
