Thanks fopr the heads-up David - I was hoping they might do this. Paul, Graeme, Uri, John, Howard etc - could be a good UK list night out?!? If so, whose is whose, and is this Robert's only contribution in this department? I seem to think Kevin's book credits Bruce with `scratch your name on the walls of the cave'" Robert never wrote any Wire lyrics. He was quoted as 'having a go' in the '70s, but giving up as he thought B/G/C's were better. As far as Eardrum Buzz goes, Bruce or Graham (not sure which) claimed that it was part of a dream. As far as I remember, Colin wrote three verses, B/G combo did the rest... C ===== - ------- Craig Grannell / Wireviews --- http://welcome.to/wireviews News, reviews and dugga. Open this page http://www.brainwashed.com/music.html and you'll find a link to it, along with lots of other useful & informative sites about mostly interesting bands, including the Wire MP3 excerpt archive. Jan said >>>>I remember there was an announcement for more than one year ago that our wellknown Lewis was working with material made by Chris Watson. Check out the May 2000 Wire interview on Cracked Machine for more information on this. The Chris Watson remix project has yet to see the light of day, but if/when it does it should be on the Touch label. Lewis used his Chris Watson remix as part of the soundtrack for the film 'Universal Body' which was shown at the RFH before the He Said performance. No idea if the Swedish mag with the Lewis/Pan Sonic track is still available, sorry. Check 'The Wire Page' discography, as I seem to recall the details are there. Lock up your hats! XTC's Chalkhills list Orbital's Loopz site. I say strange because time & again these bands come up in conversations. That is not to deny my soft spot for Joy Division,Magazine,Buzzcocks,The Fall,Television, et al. I will also be visiting The Residents website soon.Do we do too much naval gazing & hanker after the old "punk days" too much ? I I may be so bold ,I think it's important as a list to encourage list members to listen to the new music out there.Like Silo,Autechre or whoever else .What I find really positive from the mails is the new bands (or old bands occasionally I've missed !) discovered purely from discussion on the list. For me Autechre is a good example. But as we know, US charts are a strange science.
