Interesting. My second ever album purchase was "Kings of the Wild Frontier" (after the Grease soundtrack) and along with a couple of others inspired me to start drumming. //////i got into them pre-marco , but the only gig i saw was on the "kings" tour. really brilliant. I still rate all of "Dirk Wears White Sox" which is an oh-so-clever record with pretentious lyrics about God, Futurism/fascism and JFK...with lots of high pitched oohing and fantastic drumming. Andy Warren who played on that record ended up in the Monocrome Set, who were another band with pretentious lyrics.... //////yep , it's still a fave of mine , way ahead of its time. all 3 ants were fabulous musicians. have you heard the peel sessions album? another must-have. adam had a pretentious side but his attempts to get tough always had a sort of campness to them. robert de niro meets kenneth williams? i loved the m/set too ; i thik they're still going actually. "Whip in My Valise" was always my favourite.... /// you know as a 15 year old i thought that was the rudest thing i'd ever heard , i'd never heard anything like it before. they were huge with all the punks at my school , and absolutely everyone had the zerox/whip single. shame that box-set is #30 , well worth having but i must admit i got somebody to buy it for me for xmas ! p Return-path: From: PaulRabjohn@aol.com Full-name: PaulRabjohn Message-ID: Date: Fri, 29 Dec 2000 18:01:27 EST Subject: Re: [idealcopy] ITWINC?/ adam ant?
