Hi all, Inspired by the recent concept I am currently working on an "instrumental" version of Madman's Honey which I would very much like to contribute to the project.Instead of sending in a mastered ( or bad cover version for that matter), I was thinking of sending in the unmixed tracks/wav files/samples that make up my version of the song on CD ROM and any of those individual audio tracks could be used as some source material for the project eg. a bassline, guitar riff, etc. Alex ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2000 09:19:14 EST From: MarkBursa@aol.com Subject: Re: Fw: [idealcopy] List Members unite whether musician or not!!! Alex, I definitely think we shouldn't be doing Wire covers. But individual elements are fair game! The last thing I want to see is a "virtual tribute band"! The point of inspiration should be confined to a certain artful way of working and experimenting. Syarzhuk, Most good boxed sets collate a band's recorded output and include lots of rarities/outtakes/sessions/live tracks etc. Wire (via WMO) have been fastidious in releasing just about everything ever recorded in a studio, so there's very little unreleased material available. The PF/CM/154 "box" is a cardboard wrapper round three nice-price albums. Not worthy of the name box set, though good value if you haven't got the three albums on CD. There are loads of these areound now - I just picked up The Cure's Faith/Pornography/Top one for #18. (I know - should have been 17secs instead of the Top but there you go...) Living in the north of the Netherlands. Since 1980 I am following these wire-men and I must say there are many times being surprised possitively by their output. Not just only by the combo Wire. Also their individual creativities or with others gave me some pleasent moments and time. Visit a concert of them in Holland.Saw Gilbert & Lewis at the Tegentonen-festival and of course last Februari the RFH. Did read the idealcopy mail-box for a long time and maybe and now it's maybe nice to give some reaction by writing. Everyone is waiting for the brand-new 7", but I haven't seen anything about the new Ocsid release, called Opening Sweep with Graham Lewis, Carl Michael von Hauswolff and Jean Louis Huhta on Ash International rec. I don't know if it is available already. But before 2001 the web-site ashinternational.com says. nice word from the Collins Dictionary: phonometer is an apparatus that measures the intensity of sound. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2000 21:29:35 EST From: MarkBursa@aol.com Subject: Re: [idealcopy] The First e-mail Jan, << I haven't seen anything about the new Ocsid release, called Opening Sweep with Graham Lewis, Carl Michael von Hauswolff and Jean Louis Huhta on Ash International rec. Here's some more details about the release from the website: Opening Sweep was recorded at L-O-K, a club in Munich, Bavaria, on the 12th November 1999.Ocsid started performing before the audience arrived: and finished as the floors were being swept (2200 - 0330). Opening Sweep is the first 75.04 experienced by five dogs and a man. It took a year before Ash received the MD master, as they are all exceptionally busy people; Graham took part in the reformation of Wire and subsequent tour; CM exhibited and performed around the world; Jean-Louis started a family whilst continuing to record and play. Discussions as to whether the master should be altered in any way...or not...were intense yet brief...it wasn't...this is it... They all live in Sweden.
