I've got It Seems on Vinyl, without the Si Tu Attends track - I bought it when it was released, and it's a European edition. On CD I've got the Si Tu Attends track, and thought it was a bonus track. I don't remember Everybody Loves A History referring to it - I remember Colin talking about this song just as he was talking about any other from the album. > >i see a couple of copies of "it seems" on ebay. funny , the one > i never see > >is a "commercial suicide" cd. can't be that rare? > > Seems that way. The lp is on there all the time, but cds rarely, and > usually go pretty high. Crammed does not release Commercial Suicide and It Seems any more, so everything you se must be second hand. I guess it's quite obvious why Commercial Suicide is less common than It Seems - while both albums are not commercial, Commercial Suicide is even more so, with its orchestral instruments and weird atmospheres. It Seems, apart from relying heavily on sequencers, have some tracks with drums on them which really rock. For myself I love both, but prefer Commercial Suicide. giluz ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Nov 2000 11:36:52 EST From: PaulRabjohn@aol.com Subject: [idealcopy] OT ; sudden sway / garry bushell / help!! sorry but i need some help here. last night i had a disturbing experience. i shall explain. of several obscure , low-profile acts i've liked , one of the best was sudden sway. i've got all the records but i don't think they ever gigged , they never had photos published either. so i wouldn't have much idea what they looked like , but i do know the singer was called mike mcguire. anyway , last night i was setting the video up to tape "marc" this morning (it had the radio stars doing "no russians in russia" which i'd not heard in 20 years or so) , and i caught a bit of garry bushell's tragic "get a question wrong and this girl will take her clothes off" show. one of the "star panelists" was a guy called mike mcguire , introduced as a "local radio dj and celebrity". has anybody heard of this guy? i really hope this isn't the same MM , this guy had a sort of manc accent and was doing some hugely unfunny tony blair voices and generally being a complete embarassment. but he must have been about the right age and i guess there can't be too many people with that name. anybody out there ever seen what sudden sway looked like or heard of this mike mcguire dj? please say it ain't so. p ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Nov 2000 19:53:30 -0800 (PST) From: Rick Hindman Subject: [idealcopy] [On Topic] So I was listening to ABIAC in my car today and it occured to me that no other band I have ever heard of can redo their own material and make it work so well! The question I had was that I recall someone on this list mentioning that 'German Shepards' was done previous to IBTABA. Which album was that on? BTW - I was browsing (no $$) at my favorite shop in Santa Cruz and saw that they had 'A-Z', Dome 1&2, and alot of Malka...all used! Of course that had to happen when I am scrimping to repair a leaky roof :( Hasta~~ Rick Hindman ===== - ----------------------------------------------------------- "Learn to handle hot things, keep your knives sharp, and above all, have a good time. - -Julia Child - ----------------------------------------------------------- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
