Very close to original, just the female voice instead of Colin's. DJ said it was Mary Lou Lord. Anyone has more information about her? I think the only other song by her was a song on "Saturday Morning Cartoons" and I didn't like it (the song, not the album - there's a bunch of gems on that album, think Ramones, Violent Femmes, Butthole Surfers...). It's exactly the same as it has been for ... a while. Posteverything is not up yet. I recently wrote to posteverything, saying that while I was in no real hurry to get the two cds, I would like them, and am starting to fear that they might run out. They replied that the site was a long way from being finished, but that I could order by phone. A couple of days later I recieved a new response, telling me not to worry because there are still plenty of cds in stock, and that posteverything would be opening very soon. I have no idea what all this is worth, but there it is. She's sort of a new Joan Baez -- a great interpreter of other people's songs, but not the best songwriter in the world. She does have a beautiful voice, though, and now that she often works with Nick Saloman of the Bevis Frond, her songss have a nice balance between floomph and oomph. It's still in the area of "folk-rock" (actually, I think a former Byrd played guitar on her last record), though, probably not appealling to too many people on this list. That "Outdoor Miner" cover is on Tea At The Palaz Of Hoon, available through www.hozomeen.com. aaron ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 10:53:16 -0400 (EDT) From: Aaron Mandel Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Mary Lou Lord On Wed, 27 Sep 2000, Aaron Mandel wrote: > That "Outdoor Miner" cover is on Tea At The Palaz Of Hoon, available > through www.hozomeen.com. You know, I wanted to order the "It's All In The Brochure" CD, but I was nervous about sending cash thru the posts, or sending my Credit Card number by e-mail. And, I didn't feel like doing a long distance phone call from Seattle to London, so I decided to fax them. Worked great. Fax is fairly secure - as secure as calling via a land line - - somebody would have to tap your phone and decode the fax stream. Nice and quick, too. If you can't wait, you might want to give this a try. It worked for me.
