Wire covers are interesting, but ultimately, IMO, unsatisfying. The only cover thing I'd like to see is, and forgive me if you think this is too wacky, but I'd like to see Wire's 80's Beat Combo/synthesizer material done with the 70's punk style, much like Wire themselves did on their recent tour. I'd also like to see their 70's stuff, done in a Techno/ambient vein... Just my 2 cents... Ray Ciscon Remote Office LAN/WAN Support Manager Comark, Inc. It sounds like any one of 30 other cover versions of Outdoor Miner. I think I paid 10 dollars for my copy through some online record store. Just go to ubl.com and follow their links to the list of stores if you want to buy it without all that ebay nonsense. Or, if enough people are interested, I could put an mp3 on the web. There are even one or two tracks with "normal" vocals on them. After first few listens it seems to be quite awesome. Mucho recommended. giluz ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 12:22:11 -0400 (EDT) From: Aaron Mandel Subject: Re: [idealcopy] Re: more eBay crazyness On Sat, 23 Sep 2000, Andrew N Westmeyer wrote: > Don't bother with it. Mary Lou Lord and Nick Saloman perform "Outdoor Miner" on the Tea At The Palaz Of Hoon compilation, available at http://www.hozomeen.org/cosmodemon/index.html which is actually pretty good even if you don't need another "Outdoor". and if you're near New London, CT but have never been to the Secret Theatre, check out the rest of that web page. it's a fun place to see shows. a ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 12:17:09 -0700 (PDT) From: John Roberts Subject: Po It never ceases to amaze how eclectic the tastes of us listers are. Also, to subscribers and UK newsstand purchasers there is a free double CD, including tracks from The Fall (track from forthcoming new album The Unutterable), Pan Sonic, Faust, Nurse With Wound, Coil and many more. It's £3.10 a throw, but with over 2 and a half hours worth of free music, it seems like an okay deal. (Despite how the above reads, I've no vested interest; just thought that some on the list might be interested) Cheers Ian ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2000 11:17:30 +0200 From: "giluz" Subject: pinkflag.com Did anyone try to enter pinkflag.com today?
